In April and May 2015, two earthquakes hit Nepal. Known as the Gorkha earthquakes, these natural disasters killed nearly 9,000 people and injured nearly 22,000. Its epicenter was east of Gorkha District at Barpak. Hundreds of thousands of Nepalese were made homeless with entire villages flattened across many districts of the country, but Gorkha was the most affected due to its location. In December of the same year as winter was at the door, most of Gorkha’s were living it terrible conditions. As the prime Nepali visited the village by helicopter for 30 minutes, promises of funds were made but no hope was nowhere to be seen.
